We are developing a curriculum and want your input!
The Friends of Hawaiian Islands NWR (FoHI) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Honolulu that aims to bring the far northwest Hawaiian Islands into local classrooms. Our mission is to connect you with the nature and culture of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands through education and outreach, in support of Hawaiian Islands National Wildlife Refuge, part of Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument. During the Covid-19 quarantine, we recognize the significant effort teachers are making to move classes online and provide educational materials that families can access remotely. As we shift our focus to address these new pedagogical practices, we would love your help in finding out what resources could be useful to teachers. Below is a link to a short survey for teachers to fill out to provide their input and level of interest in curriculum that incorporates lessons on the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. We'd greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment (3 minutes) to complete the survey and/or share it with other educators in your network.
